L’Oreal Paris Infallible 2-Step Lip colour

Where I got it: I was sent this for review, but you can find this in Farmers or any leading pharmacies for RRP$29.99.

What I got: This is a L’Oreal Paris Infallible 2-Step Lip Colour in 506 Red Infallible and 121 Flawless Fuscia. This new Infallible 2-Step longwear lip colour with unique moisturising formula and ultra-chic packaging contains hyaluronic gel to provide all day smoothness, hydration and resistance. There is a total of 14 radiant colours to choose from. It is dual ended, one side with a very pigmented lip colour with a doe-foot applicator, the other side is a clear lip balm to be applied over the lip colour for hydration.

This first step is the lip colour which applies like a liquid lipstick with a doe foot applicator (the size of the applicator is rather generous so it may be a little hard for those with thin lips). The second step is a hydrating balm over the lip colour to give shine and hydration.

How I find it: So with well-exfoliated, lightly moisturiser lips, I applied two coats of this lip colour while the formula is still moist. I had to be really careful because it is really pigmented and very opaque. I went over it carefully to avoid any streaks and ensure nothing goes out of line. I then wait for about 1-2 minutes and the lip colour is set! When the lip colour is set, it is a little tacky and the lips feel a little dry. DO NOT RUB YOUR LIPS TOGETHER! I have had bad experience previously when I do that, the lines on my lips are exaggerated! After that, I apply step 2 which is a clear lip balm, The lip colour DID NOT BUDGE at all while applying this top coat. Instead, it gave my lips a glossy and moisturised finish! I even kissed the back of my hand to test the colour – nothing rubbed off.

For removal, I tried using my Bioderma cleansing water – after 3 hard swipes, only bits of colour was removed. Then I used a waterproof eye/lip makeup remover with a cotton pad – better, but still 95% on my lips (I was freaking out actually). I then used my cleansing oil (usually removes all makeup on my skin) and finally it worked! I did have to massage it a good 30 seconds rinse it off and do it again!

Overall: This stuff is stubborn! So be extra careful where you put it, its not as easy as changing your lip colour after 3 hours! It lasts for ages and the clear gloss can be applied as often as you like to keep the lip colour vibrant. It does, however after a few hours leave me with a slight lip liner effect where the inner edge of my lips faded and the outer edge color is still very solid. Love the vibrant red and fuchsia colour I have, they would be great for a night out or a party where there will be wine drinking and eating and talking! Gonna be wearing this in the work Christmas do!
