Australis Matte Up Foundation in Nude

In Beauty on 09/08/2013 at 11:00

Where I got this: I got sent this for review, and you can buy this from your local Kmart, Farmers and leading pharmacies for $ 21.00.

What I got: This is a Matte Up Foundation compact by Australis. This is a mattifying cream-to-powder compact foundation suitable for combination/oily skin. The compact contains xx amount of products and a sponge in the bottom compartment. This offers light to medium coverage with oil and shine control and comes in Nude, Natural Beige and Natural Tan. I have Nude.

How I find it: After letting my moisturiser set, I apply my Australis Matte Out Face Base on my face, then I use my fingers to apply this foundation. This comes with a sponge, but I do find it much easier to apply when the foundation is warmed up from the heat of my fingers. The creamy texture is not too thick so it glides on very smoothly. The light to medium coverage is build-able and doesn’t feel cakey at all! I then finish my complexion with Benefit Fake Up concealor and lightly powdered over with MAC Translucent Finishing Powder to set everything. Loreal True Match Blush and MAC Solar Riche Bronzing Powder.

As for the oil-controlling effects, it lasted quite well throughout the day. Applying at 7am and by 10am only my nose is a little oily. Only by about 12pm, my t-zone is shiny, so I blotted once. The overall colour has not oxidized so the colour pretty much stayed true.

Overall: I love the color and the coverage. It feels really light and the coverage is good for work where I don’t need a full face of makeup, but do want to look even skin-toned. Oil-controlling is good enough for a day at work indoors and being a compact it is easy to take everywhere. I have also tried this by itself, but it is works better with the Matte Out Face Base!

Purchase? Yes! It was better than I expected in regards to the colour, the texture and the oil-control.  Would recommend this for combination skin and oily skin. But for really oily skin, you may need a more oil-controlling base and oil-controlling powder over this.

Thank you so much for reading! Tell me what your thoughts are on this product and stay tuned for Matte Out Face Base and Matte Me Lipstick Mattifying Base!  XOXO
